From September 15th until September 17th, 2015, a FIDE Trainers’ Seminar took place in International Youth Centre, Kuala Lumpur.
Featuring a world renowned FIDE Senior Trainer (FST) – GM Efstratios Grivas, the lessons and discussions presented many ideas and methodology on developing young and experienced players. CM Collin Madhavan and IA Kwai Keong Chan were also the co-lecturers in the seminar.
GM E.Grivas has shared his valuable experiences developing numbers of Grandmaster in Turkey where he was the Head Trainer of the Turkish Men’s National Team (2006-2012). He is now the Head Trainer of the Greek Men’s National Team and the Secretary of the FIDE Trainers’ Commission.
28 participants from Malaysia, Philippines and India took part. Special thanks to FIDE, who generously supported the event. The seminar was co-organised by the FIDE and the Malaysian Chess Federation (MCF).
All participants have completed the seminars successfully and will be awarded a title accordingly:
- FIDE Trainer (FT)
- FIDE Instructor (FI)
- National Instructor (NI)
- Developmental Instructor (DI)
This is the second FIDE seminars’ successfully organised in this year calendar after the FIDE Arbiters’ Seminar in Merlimau, Melaka (30th May – 1st June). MCF will continue planning, organising seminars and training in conjunction of the chess development in the country.
